Tirana është qyteti kryesor i Shqipërisë, që ndodhet në një lokacion të pazakontë. Qyteti ndodhet në një fushë në një zonë midis liqenit të Tiranës dhe malit të Dajtit, në juglindje të Shqipërisë. Tirana është kryeqyteti i Shqipërisë që nga viti 1920. Qyteti ka një popullsi prej rreth 500,000 banorësh dhe është një qendër e rëndësishme ekonomike dhe kulturore për të gjithë Shqipërinë.

Gjatë shekullit të 18-të, Tirana u bë qendra e pushtetit politik për Shqipërinë, dhe në shekullin e 19-të, qyteti u bë qendra e lëvizjes për liri dhe pavarësi.
