Rose Island

Rose Island is an uninhabited island in the Bahamas located in the Atlantic Ocean, between Nassau and Paradise Island. It is located about 1.5 miles off the coast of Nassau and is part of the archipelago of islands known as the Exuma Cays. The island spans approximately two square miles and is home to a variety of wildlife, including iguanas, seabirds, and sea turtles.

Rose Island was first discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513. It was later used as a base by the British Navy during the American Revolution, and then as a hideout for pirates. In the late 19th century, the island was home to a salt-producing plant.

In the early 20th century, the island became a tourist destination and was home to a hotel, a casino, and a nightclub. However, the island was destroyed by a hurricane in 1929, and the hotel and casino were never rebuilt.
