Long Hole

Long Hole is an immense sinkhole located in the state of Goiás in Brazil. It is the largest natural sinkhole in the world, measuring approximately 200 meters (656 feet) in length, 100 meters (328 feet) in width and 60 meters (196 feet) in depth. The sinkhole is located in the municipality of São Miguel do Araguaia, which is situated in the south-central part of the state of Goiás, near the border with Mato Grosso.

Long Hole is believed to have been formed at least 80 million years ago, when a large underground river carved a huge cavern in the limestone bedrock. Over time, the river eroded away the limestone, leaving the huge sinkhole that can be seen today. The sinkhole is filled with crystal-clear water, which is believed to be connected to the underground river that formed it.
