Baffin Island is an island located in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago in the territory of Nunavut. It is the largest island in Canada and the fifth-largest island in the world, with an area of 507,451 km2 (195,928 sq mi). Baffin Island is located in the Davis Strait, between Greenland and the Canadian mainland. The island has an irregular coastline of many fjords, bays, and inlets, and is home to a number of glaciers and ice caps.

The island's population is mainly Inuit, with a few small settlements of other Indigenous peoples. The largest community is Iqaluit, which is the territorial capital of Nunavut. Other communities include Pond Inlet, Clyde River, Arctic Bay, and Pangnirtung.

The island has a long history of human habitation. Archaeological evidence suggests that humans have lived on the island since at least 2500 BCE.
