Nyborg is a city in the south of Funen, Denmark. It is the seat of the Nyborg Municipality, and has a population of approximately 14,000 people. It is located on the island of Funen, just east of Odense, and is linked to the mainland by two bridges.
Nyborg is an old city, with its origins dating back to the 12th century. During the Middle Ages, it was an important port and trading center. In the 15th century, it became a member of the Hanseatic League, and was part of the Union of Kalmar in 1397.
