Makatea

Makatea est une île de l'archipel de la Polynésie française, située à environ 350 km à l'ouest de Tahiti. Elle se trouve à environ 15° de latitude sud et 150° de longitude ouest. L'île mesure environ 3 km de long et 1,5 km de large, et est entourée de récifs coralliens.

Makatea est une île volcanique couverte de collines et de falaises escarpées, dont les plus hautes atteignent environ 60 mètres. La plupart de l'île est recouverte de forêts tropicales luxuriantes, avec des lacs et des cascades.
