Raja Ampat is an archipelago located in the province of West Papua, Indonesia. It is situated in the northwest of the Bird’s Head Peninsula, and is composed of four main islands, Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati, and Misool, as well as more than 1,500 smaller islands and islets. The islands of Raja Ampat have a long and varied history. It is believed to have been inhabited as early as the 15th century by seafaring traders from the Maluku Islands. Raja Ampat in Indonesia has a tropical climate with high temperatures and humidity year-round. During the dry season (April-November), temperatures range from 24-32°C and the humidity is low. The wet season (December-March) is characterised by heavy rainfall, high humidity and temperatures ranging from 24-30°C. The summer months (May-September) are generally the hottest and most humid, while the winter months (October-April) are slightly cooler and drier. Overall, the climate in Raja Ampat is hot and humid with a distinct wet and dry season.
