Today, Uwajima is a vibrant city with a strong local culture. It is home to many festivals, including the Uwajima Ushi-oni Festival, which is held every year on the third Sunday in April. This festival features a parade of floats with large paper mache bulls, which is a symbol of the city. The city also hosts the Uwajima Summer Festival, which is held every year in August.
