San Ignacio Lagoon (Laguna San Ignacio) is a large lagoon located in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, on the Pacific coast of the Baja California peninsula. It lies within the Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve, and is the largest of the three lagoons on the peninsula. The lagoon is approximately ten miles long and two miles wide, with an average depth of six feet.
The lagoon is home to an abundance of wildlife, including gray whales, dolphins, sea lions, and over 200 species of birds. It is also a popular destination for sport fishing, with a variety of species including yellowtail, grouper, and marlin.
