Trygghamna is a small settlement located in Svalbard and Jan Mayen, a region in the Arctic Ocean. It is situated on the western side of the Spitsbergen archipelago, which is part of Norway. The settlement is the northernmost permanent human settlement in the world, located at 78°50'N 19°00'E.
The settlement was founded in 1604 by Dutch whalers and was originally known as "De Nederlandsche Whaling Company".
