Rockland

Rockland is a county located in the U.S. state of New York. It is part of the Hudson Valley region and is located on the west side of the Hudson River, approximately 30 miles north of New York City. The county seat is the city of New City, and the county has a population of over 300,000 people.

Rockland is a suburban county, with many of its residents commuting to New York City for work. It is home to numerous parks and recreational areas, including Bear Mountain State Park and Harriman State Park. Rockland also has a number of historic sites, such as the Old Dutch Church of Sleepy Hollow and the DeWint House.

The county was first settled in the early 17th century by Dutch settlers, and it was officially established in 1798.
