Cuxiu Muni is a municipality located in the state of Ceará, in northeastern Brazil. It is situated in the semi-arid region of sertão, approximately 40 km from the state capital, Fortaleza. The municipality has a population of approximately 10,000 people, and a total area of 1,122 km2.
Cuxiu Muni was founded in 1788, when the Portuguese Empire was still in control of the area. The city was named after the Cuxiu River, which runs through the municipality. After the fall of the Portuguese Empire, Cuxiu Muni became part of the independent Empire of Brazil.
The economy of Cuxiu Muni is mainly based on agriculture and livestock. The main crops are corn, beans, and cassava. Livestock production is also important, with cattle, sheep, and goats being the most common animals raised.
