The Palace

The Palace of Versailles is a royal chateau located in Versailles, France, about 20 kilometers southwest of Paris. Originally built in 1623 by King Louis XIII as a hunting lodge, it was later expanded by Louis XIV into a magnificent palace. The palace is renowned for its grandeur and opulence, and is a symbol of the power and wealth of the French monarchy.

The palace is surrounded by a large park, the Parc de Versailles, which was designed by André Le Nôtre and features a range of gardens, fountains, and sculptures.
