Funato

Funato is a small town situated in the Iwate Prefecture of Japan. It is located in the southern part of the prefecture, about 20 kilometers from the prefectural capital of Morioka. The town is surrounded by the Kitakami and Nakatsu Rivers, and is bordered by the cities of Ninohe and Ichinoseki.

Funato has a population of about 8,000 people, and is an agricultural and fishing community. The town is known for its production of rice, as well as its many small rivers and streams. The town is also home to several historical sites, including the Funato Castle ruins and the Funato Shrine.
