Pure

Pure is a municipality in Norway located in the county of Sogn og Fjordane. It is situated in the traditional district of Sogn and is home to a population of around 5,000 people.

The municipality is situated on the northern shore of the Sognefjorden, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. The area is known for its beautiful landscape, with mountains, valleys, rivers, and lakes. The municipality is also home to the Jostedalsbreen glacier, the largest glacier in continental Europe.

The municipality was established in 1838 and has a long history of farming and fishing. The area has also been home to several important historical events. In 1567, the Battle of Svolder took place near the municipality, when the Norwegian king was defeated by the Danish-Swedish forces. In 1644, the Treaty of Brønnøysund was signed in the municipality, which ended the Kalmar War between Norway and Denmark.

Snowfall is common in the winter months, and can sometimes last until early spring.
