Seward is a town in Alaska, located on the Kenai Peninsula, about 125 miles south of Anchorage. It is the fourth largest city in Alaska, with a population of about 2,700. Seward is situated on Resurrection Bay and is surrounded by mountains and glaciers.

Seward was founded in 1903 by the U.S. government as a port for the Alaska Railroad. It was named after William H. Seward, the U.S. Secretary of State who negotiated the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867.
