Tanna is an island in the nation of Vanuatu located in the South Pacific Ocean. It is the southernmost island of the archipelago and is approximately 35 kilometers long and 20 kilometers wide. The island is home to a population of approximately 27,000 people and is known for its lush tropical rainforest, pristine beaches, and active volcanoes.
Tanna is located about 500 kilometers east of the capital Port Vila and is part of the Tafea Province. It is a volcanic island with two active volcanoes, Mount Yasur and Mount Tukosmera. The island is also home to the John Frum Movement, a religious and political movement that is based on the belief in an American military cargo cult.
