Namibe is a port city located in southwestern Angola. It is the capital of the province of the same name, and is situated on the Atlantic coast, about 1,500 kilometers south of the country's capital, Luanda.

Namibe is a coastal city, with a population of around 80,000 people. It is the largest port in Angola and is the main port for the export of Angolan minerals and oil. The city is also home to the Namibe Airport, which serves domestic and international flights.

Namibe is known for its rich cultural heritage, with many historic sites and monuments. The city is home to the Fort of São João Baptista, a 16th century Portuguese fort, which is now a museum. The city also has a number of churches, including the Church of Our Lady of the Conception, which dates from the 18th century.

Namibe has a long history, and was an important trading port for the Portuguese during the colonial period. In the late 19th century, the city was the site of the Battle of Namibe, when the Portuguese and their allies fought against the forces of the Kingdom of Kongo.
