Vanimo is a small town located in the Sandaun Province of Papua New Guinea, on the northern coast of the island of New Guinea. It is situated near the Indonesian border, and is the closest major town to the border crossing at Wutung. The town has a population of around 5,000 people, and is a major trading centre for the surrounding area.
