Balabac is a municipality located in the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It lies on the southernmost tip of the Palawan mainland, and is composed of several islands off the coast of the mainland, including Balabac Island, Bugsuk Island, and Pandanan Island. It is bordered by the Sulu Sea to the south and east, and the Palawan mainland to the north and west.
The population of Balabac is estimated to be around 20,000 people. The main industries of the municipality are fishing, tourism, and agriculture. The main language spoken is Cuyonon, with Tagalog and English also being widely spoken.
Geographically, Balabac is situated in a unique location. It is located at the convergence of the Sulu Sea, the Celebes Sea, and the South China Sea. This makes it a prime location for fishing, as well as for shipping and trading.
