The main settlement on the island is the town of Vila do Corvo, which is located on the eastern side of the island. The town is home to the island's only airport, Corvo Airport, as well as a small harbor.

The population of Corvo is around 400 people. Most of the island's inhabitants are farmers and fishermen, and the main industries are agriculture and fishing.

The island has a long history, dating back to the 15th century when it was first settled by Portuguese explorers. In the 16th century, Corvo was an important trading port for the Portuguese Empire. During the 18th century, the island was a major whaling port for the British and American fleets.

Today, Corvo is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a unique experience of rural life in the Azores. The island is also well-known for its beautiful scenery and its abundance of wildlife, including whales, dolphins, and seabirds.
