Busselton is a coastal city located in the South West region of Western Australia. Situated on the shores of Geographe Bay, it is approximately 220km south of the state capital, Perth. The city has a population of approximately 28,000 people and is the largest city in the South West region.
Busselton was first settled by Europeans in 1832 when the Bussell family established a farm at the site. The city began to develop rapidly in the mid-1800s, when the Busselton Jetty was constructed. The jetty, which is now the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, was used to transport goods and passengers from the local area to the port of Fremantle.
The city is a popular tourist destination, with its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and picturesque coastline. It is also home to a wide variety of marine life, including dolphins, turtles and whales.
