Pond Inlet is an Inuit hamlet located in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut, Canada. It is located on the northern tip of Baffin Island, at the northern end of Frobisher Bay. It is one of the northernmost permanently inhabited communities in the world.
Pond Inlet was established as a trading post in the early 19th century and was originally known as "Tununirusiq" or "Tununirsuk" by the local Inuit. The area has been inhabited by Inuit for centuries and is the traditional homeland of the Inuit people.
