Haifa

Haifa is a major port city in northern Israel, located on the Mediterranean Sea. It is the third-largest city in the country, with a population of over 275,000 people. It is the capital of the Haifa district and the largest city in the northern part of Israel.

Haifa is built on the slopes of Mount Carmel and is surrounded by the hills of the Galilee to the north and the hills of the Carmel range to the south. The city is divided into two main parts, the lower and upper city. The lower city is situated along the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, while the upper city is located on the slopes of Mount Carmel.

It is home to the University of Haifa, the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and the Baháʼí World Centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
