Kaohsiung is the second largest city in Taiwan and is located in the south of the country. It lies on the coast of the Taiwan Strait and is bordered by the cities of Tainan, Pingtung, and Yilan. The city has a population of 2.77 million, making it the most populous city in the south of Taiwan.
