Raiatea is an island in French Polynesia, located in the Society Islands archipelago in the South Pacific Ocean. It is the second largest of the Society Islands, after Tahiti, and the most sacred of all the islands in the archipelago. Raiatea is located about 220 kilometers (137 miles) northwest of Tahiti and is surrounded by several smaller islands, including Tahaa, Huahine, and Motu One.
