Salerno is a city located on the Gulf of Salerno in the Campania region of southwestern Italy. The city has a population of approximately 140,000 people and is the capital of the Province of Salerno. Salerno is located in a strategic position between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Apennine Mountains, and is only a short distance from the Amalfi Coast.
