Lüderitz

Lüderitz is a coastal town in the ǁKaras region of Namibia, located on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the second largest town in the region, with a population of about 13,000 people. The town is situated on a peninsula and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on three sides.

The town was founded in 1883 by Adolf Lüderitz, a German merchant, who purchased the area from the local Nama people. The town was then named after him. The town soon became a major trading port and was a major hub for the diamond industry.
