Kirkwall is a town located in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. The town is the administrative capital of the Orkney Islands, and is the largest settlement in the region. It is situated on the island of Mainland and is the most northerly town in the United Kingdom.

The town has a population of around 8,500 people and is steeped in history and culture. It is home to a number of historic sites, including St Magnus Cathedral which was built in the 12th century and is one of the best preserved medieval cathedrals in the country.
