Skagway is a small city located in the southeastern corner of Alaska, USA, at the northernmost end of the Inside Passage. It is the gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and lies at the northernmost end of the Lynn Canal, the deepest fjord in North America.

Skagway was founded in 1897 during the Klondike Gold Rush, when thousands of gold-seekers traveled to the area. It was one of the main ports of call for prospectors heading to the Yukon, and the population of the town grew rapidly. The town quickly developed a reputation as a wild and lawless place, and it was home to many saloons, gambling houses and brothels.
