Saint Thomas is the largest and most populated of the United States Virgin Islands, located in the Caribbean Sea. It is one of the three main islands of the U.S. Virgin Islands, along with Saint John and Saint Croix. The capital city of Charlotte Amalie is located on Saint Thomas and is a popular port of call for cruise ships.

The island of Saint Thomas is approximately 32 square miles in size and has a population of approximately 51,000. The terrain is mostly hilly and the highest point is Crown Mountain at 1,556 feet. The climate is tropical with temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to the mid-80s throughout the year.

The island was first discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493 and was later colonized by the Danes in 1672. The island was known as Santa Cruz by the Spanish and later changed to Saint Thomas by the Danes. The Danes held control of the island until 1917 when the United States purchased the islands from Denmark for $25 million.

The island is home to a variety of attractions and activities, including Magens Bay, a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters, and Blackbeard’s Castle, a historic fort built by the Danish in the early 1700s. There are also several museums and historical sites, including the St. Thomas Historical Trust Museum and the St. Thomas Reformed Church.
