Hososhima is a small island located in the Oki Islands of Shimane Prefecture, Japan. It lies approximately 30 kilometers off the coast of Shimane and is the northernmost of the Oki Islands. The island is about 4.5 km long and 3.2 km wide, and its total area is about 5.4 km².
