Harwich is a small port town in Essex, England situated on the coast of the North Sea. It is located on the estuary of the River Stour and is about 25 miles from Colchester. Harwich has a rich maritime history and was a major port in the 16th and 17th centuries. It was the departure point for the Mayflower and the Speedwell, which sailed to America in 1620, and for the Pilgrim Fathers in 1620.
